About The Position

The Child Care Cook, also referred to as a Food Specialist, is responsible for preparing food for the children enrolled at the school. The role involves adapting to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules. The cook creates home-style, nutritious meal plans within the school’s menu and budget and in accordance with state and federal requirements, prepares meals and snacks for children and staff, and distributes food to classrooms. The role follows the daily menu provided by the Director and applicable USDA, licensing, and health department regulations. It also maintains food and supply inventory, places orders as needed, and may assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater.

Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.

Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.

Responsibilities
