About The Position

BrightPath Kids is hiring a full-time Child Care Assistant Teacher in Maryvale, NY, at $16.00–$18.00 per hour. The assistant teacher works alongside teachers and families to provide a home-away-from-home for children in care, following NAEYC guidelines. The role focuses on the safety, supervision, learning, and well-being of infants, as well as maintaining a warm, clean, and safe classroom environment. No classroom experience is required; paid training on classroom procedures is provided. The position has no evening or weekend shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and supervision of infants.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction.
• Decorate classroom areas indoors and outdoors as needed.
• Maintain a warm, safe, and clean environment that supports children’s growth and exploration.
• Interact with children and encourage their involvement in activities.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child.
