Child Care Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Bright Horizons is hiring full-time Assistant Teachers to work with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers at its Concord Plaza and Nemours centers in the Wilmington, Delaware area. This in-person role supports children’s supervision, care, and curriculum delivery in accordance with Bright Horizons policies and applicable laws and regulations. The role requires compliance with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements. Bright Horizons offers opportunities to learn from early education experts and pursue a CDA or college degree at no cost through its Horizons CDA & Degree Program.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated experience working with children.
- Pass required state and company background checks.
- Meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
- Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Child care, daycare, or preschool experience is preferred.
- Early childhood coursework, including TECE 1 and 2 or equivalent ECE credits, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
- Communicate daily with parents.
- Document and share important milestones in each child’s day.
- Keep the classroom safe and clean by following procedures and guidelines.
- Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies, procedures, and guidance.
