About The Position

The Child Care Aide supports the Day Care/Early Learn program at a Family Shelter, helping children impacted by homelessness continue learning and developing. The role assists Teachers and Assistant Teachers with educational activities and helps maintain a safe, clean program environment while engaging with children and their families.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience and skills.
• Experience working with preschool-age children.
• Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teachers and Assistant Teachers with facilitating the educational curriculum and implementing lesson plans and daily activity schedules.
• Keep equipment accessible and in good, clean, sanitized condition; remove and report damaged or unsafe equipment.
• Meet and greet children and their families daily.
• Encourage families to volunteer and participate in their children’s program.
