About The Position

The Chief Program Officer (CPO) is a member of Greenwich House’s executive leadership team and holds executive accountability for the performance, quality, financial sustainability, and strategic direction of programs operated by Greenwich House and its two affiliates. In partnership with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial and Operating Officer, and Chief External Affairs Officer, the CPO ensures programs fulfill the organization’s mission, meet contractual and regulatory obligations, use resources responsibly, and deliver meaningful outcomes. The CPO directly supervises and develops three vice presidents responsible for the organization’s program portfolios and shares responsibility for the overall success of Greenwich House and its affiliates. The portfolio includes Health Services, Human Services, and Youth, Arts, and Education programs. Human Services includes older adult centers, case management, caregiver support, friendly visiting, and community-based services. Youth, Arts, and Education includes school-based after-school programs, girls’ basketball, Greenwich House Pottery School, Greenwich House Music School, and community arts and education programming. The CPO translates organizational strategy into program priorities; advises executive colleagues on opportunities, risks, program development, and resource allocation; and fosters collaboration across programs and affiliates. The role develops program leaders, oversees budgeting and financial performance, evaluates the feasibility and mission alignment of initiatives, and ensures compliance, quality, risk management, and continuous improvement. The CPO partners with central services and the development team, represents Greenwich House to external stakeholders, and maintains a constructive relationship with the Board of Trustees and relevant committees. Greenwich House seeks a strategic, financially astute, collaborative executive who develops capable leaders, welcomes diverse perspectives, and approaches decisions with sound judgment, integrity, humility, empathy, flexibility, and accountability. The CPO’s ultimate responsibility is to ensure programs collectively deliver on the organization’s mission with quality, integrity, financial responsibility, and commitment to the communities they serve.
