About The Position

NI Emerson enables fast and cost-effective design, validation, and test of innovative semiconductor, wireless prototyping, and electronics as a best-in-class test and measurement company. Within Product R&D, we have a Project Management Office (PMO) that oversees new product development for complex wireless communication, RF, mixed signal, and measurement test systems. To accelerate our Test & Measurement growth, PMO is looking for Chief Program Manager to lead multiple product development teams across the world. The role requires exceptional leadership to lead a team of senior engineers while coordinating across Delivery Leads, and Project Managers in Product R&D. The primary focus is to work with our semiconductor test business unit on execution world class new product development. The secondary focus will be to establish project management rigor in product R&D for world class new product development execution that delight the customers. When business needs arise, the program manager will also need to execute large programs of high complexity that impact multiple product lines. The program manager will be responsible for taking a product from Concept to Manufacturing Release by working closely with cross-functional partners (marketing, sales, business units, and manufacturing) throughout the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in the Test and Measurement or related electronics industries.
  • Deep technical knowledge of a semiconductor test for RF or mixed signal product.
  • Broad experience across Mixed-Signal, RF, semiconductor, and aerospace test applications.
  • Proven ability to lead, to manage and to develop senior technical talent.
  • Strong understanding of wireless communications, semiconductor, aerospace, and electronics production and validation test markets.
  • Experience in working with dynamic cultures & countries, as part of a global organization
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills required.
  • Travel: This role is expected to travel internationally with 5% travel expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive process and product innovation while conducting business mission for semiconductor high volume test based products while acting as the subject matter expert for project and program management methodologies for new product development.
  • Contribute to project management governance with tools, processes, and templates to drive consistency in execution.
  • Influence without authority by establishing high trust relationships with cross-functional stakeholders (manufacturing, marketing, services, System R&D, CCS).
  • Accelerates product development across broad areas that encompasses multiple engineering disciplines like software, digital, RF, and mechanical by identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Communicates regularly with executive leadership and strategic customers on product development status.
  • Responds to market trends by working closely with product management and product architects to curate process development and product roadmaps.
  • Contribute to KPIs to measure and to track overall new product development efficiency. Influence product R&D to take immediate action based on KPIs.
  • Acts as an expert in program/project management who trains others on risk management, change management, capture, and share best practices for hardware development.
  • Advise executives and R&D leadership on resource and schedule tradeoff decisions for complex products and systems.
