About The Position

The Chief Product Owner, Global Operations, is part of the Global Operations leadership team within Wellington Management’s Infrastructure Platform. The role shapes the product vision and translates firm strategy and operating-model priorities into capabilities supporting Operations and enabling the Investment and Client Platforms to serve clients. It is accountable for deciding what technology outcomes Operations invests in, when, and why, and owns the product roadmap, cross-product prioritization and sequencing, capacity allocation, and measurable outcomes while balancing transformational change with business-critical services. The CPO directly leads Operations Product Owners, setting a shared agenda and resolving prioritization conflicts they cannot settle. The role partners with business stakeholders, the Platform CIO, the Chief Architect, Enterprise AI, and peer platform CPOs to align capabilities with future-state workflows, the Global Operations target operating model, and the platform’s technical vision and delivery approach. Technology partners remain responsible for solution design, engineering, support, and sustainability. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep product-management, agile, and applied-AI expertise. The CPO leads the reimagination of Operations workflows in an AI-native model, represents Operations in cross-platform and enterprise governance, and stewards product and agile ways of working across the organization. Wellington describes its compensation approach as including salary, variable compensation, and benefits; the listed base salary range is USD 120,000–225,000. Employees work from offices four days per week, with flexibility to work remotely one day per week.

  • Experience translating firm strategy and target operating-model priorities into a multi-year product roadmap across multiple operational domains.
  • Ability to balance measurable change outcomes with high-volume, SLA-driven business-critical services and competing capacity demands.
  • Experience contributing to a senior business leadership team and partnering as a peer with Investment and Client Platform product or business leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage, coach, evaluate, and develop Operations Product Owners; establish shared standards for backlog quality, prioritization, and outcome definition.
  • Resolve product prioritization conflicts and partner with technology leaders on delivery while maintaining technology’s accountability for solution design, engineering, support, and sustainability.
  • Represent Operations in the Cross-Platform CPO Forum and resolve cross-platform priority conflicts and dependencies.
  • Align product capabilities with business priorities and future-state workflows by partnering with Global Operations leaders, division heads, and Investment and Client Platform stakeholders.
  • Own Operations’ contribution to committed cross-platform and non-discretionary initiatives, negotiating scope and sequencing across affected products.
  • Develop internal communications and a change narrative for the Operations product model, addressing job-security, reporting-line, and capacity questions.
  • Partner with the Infrastructure Platform CIO and Chief Architect to align capabilities and roadmaps with the platform’s technical vision and delivery approach.
  • Set quarterly investment priorities and allocate capacity across Operations products in partnership with the CIO organization supporting roughly 200+ FTE/FTC technology resources.
  • Participate in PI planning and enterprise governance as Operations’ business-accountable representative, ensuring committed outcomes are visible to Infrastructure Platform leadership.
