About The Position

The Chief Product Owner, Global Operations, is a member of the Global Operations leadership team within the Infrastructure Platform. The role is responsible for product strategy across Client Operations, Fund Services, Investment Operations, and Private Operations, translating firm strategy and operating-model priorities into capabilities that support Operations and enable the Investment and Client Platforms to serve clients. The CPO owns Operations’ product roadmap, cross-product prioritization and sequencing, capacity allocation, and measurable outcomes. Operations Product Owners report to the CPO and own their products’ vision, backlog, sequencing, and committed outcomes; the CPO establishes their shared agenda and resolves conflicts they cannot settle. The role partners with business stakeholders, the Platform CIO, the Chief Architect, and peer platform CPOs. Technology partners remain accountable for solution design, engineering, support, and sustainability. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep product-management, agile, and applied-AI expertise. The CPO leads the redesign of Operations workflows toward an AI-native model, balancing transformational work with business-critical services and representing Operations’ priorities in cross-platform and enterprise decisions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product management or product ownership roles.
  • Experience managing a team of Product Owners or product leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI to reimagine an operations, servicing, or middle/back-office function and measurably improve business outcomes.
  • Deep experience with agile and scaled-agile ways of working, such as SAFe or equivalent, and the credibility to coach and correct Product Owners.
  • Experience translating firm strategy and target operating model priorities into a multi-year product roadmap spanning multiple operational domains.
  • Ability to balance measurable change outcomes with high-volume, SLA-driven business-critical services and competing capacity demands.
  • Ability to contribute to a senior business leadership team and partner as a peer with Investment and Client Platform product or business leaders.
  • Ability to align business priorities with a Platform CIO’s technical vision and delivery approach without formal authority over the CIO’s organization.
  • Comfort articulating investment cases in terms of additive versus run-the-business budget impact and explaining prioritization decisions to leadership and governance audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial services or asset management operations experience is strongly preferred.
  • Direct familiarity with derivatives, fund administration, guideline compliance, investment accounting, performance and attribution, or trade settlement is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Shape Global Operations’ product vision and own a multi-year roadmap spanning Investment Operations, Client Operations, Fund Services, and Private Operations.
  • Define measurable product outcomes and hold Product Owners accountable for business outcomes and service levels, including operating leverage, error rates, break-resolution time, and onboarding time.
  • Own and explain the investment case for Operations technology, distinguishing spending that creates new business outcomes from spending that protects run-the-business capacity.
  • Represent Operations’ product strategy, headcount, and application footprint in enterprise governance, budget planning, and platform roadmap reviews.
  • Lead the redesign of high-volume, error-prone Operations workflows in an AI-native model, including processes such as reconciliation, exception resolution, corporate actions, and guideline monitoring.
  • Partner with the Enterprise AI program and Infrastructure Platform CIO to identify and sequence AI-assisted or agentic capabilities, and establish AI-first as the default posture for new builds.
  • Directly manage, coach, evaluate, and develop Operations Product Owners, establishing shared standards for backlog quality, prioritization, and outcome definition.
  • Resolve prioritization conflicts among Operations products and partner with technology leaders on delivery while maintaining the distinction between business accountability and technology accountability.
  • Represent Operations in the Cross-Platform CPO Forum, resolving cross-platform priority conflicts and dependencies.
  • Work with Global Operations leaders, division heads, and Investment and Client Platform stakeholders to align capabilities with business priorities and future-state workflows.
  • Own Operations’ side of cross-platform and non-discretionary initiatives, negotiating scope and sequencing across affected products.
  • Build internal communications and a change narrative for the Operations product model, addressing questions about job security, reporting lines, and capacity.
  • Partner with the Infrastructure Platform CIO and Chief Architect to align product capabilities and priorities with the platform’s technical vision and delivery approach.
  • Set quarterly investment priorities and allocate capacity across Operations products in partnership with the CIO organization supporting roughly 200+ FTE/FTC technology resources.
  • Participate in PI planning and enterprise governance as Operations’ business-accountable voice, making committed outcomes visible to Infrastructure Platform leadership.
  • Serve as Operations’ subject-matter authority on product management and agile practices, coaching Product Owners and business stakeholders.
  • Align product and agile practices with the Global Operations target operating model, including protected run-the-business capacity, PI planning for discretionary change, and escalation paths for non-discretionary and inter-product demand.
  • Establish and defend capability contracts for how Operations products serve requests from other products and platforms.
