About The Position

Boeing Test and Evaluation is searching for an Experimental Test Pilot to take the role of an Air Dominance Chief Pilot (Senior Manager), and join our team in Berkeley, MO. In this role you will lead advanced flight test and experimental aircraft programs while supervising and developing a team of test pilots and mid-level managers. You will work alongside a high-performing, cross-functional team focused on developing next‑generation, state‑of‑the‑art capabilities for Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), including Air Dominance and Phantom Works.

Requirements

  • Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study
  • 10+ years of experience supporting a military flight test program
  • 10+ years of experience in military tactical aviation
  • Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements
  • Current FAA Class II medical certificate or must have the ability to obtain one
  • 1,500 flight hours as Pilot in Command of turbine powered jet aircraft
  • Ability to pass the U.S. Navy and/or U.S. Air Force water survival and physiology training
  • Test Pilot School (TPS) Graduate
  • 5th Generation Fighter aircraft or 6th Generation Fighter development experience
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Current and qualified in a tactical type aircraft

Responsibilities

  • Operates aircraft and manages test pilots and first-level managers performing aircrew duties, including activities to prepare for and conduct safe test flight operations; applies crew resource management principles to the operation of aircraft
  • Performs and manages activities to plan, conduct and evaluate ground and test flights
  • Leads aircrew activities to support design efforts
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops, trains and evaluates test pilots and first-level managers
