About The Position
Residential Mortgage is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to partner closely with the CEO to strengthen operations, improve efficiency, and support continued company growth. The role combines mortgage operational expertise with financial acumen, strategic thinking, and a focus on continuous improvement. The COO will shape operational strategy, improve financial performance and internal processes, and support an environment where employees and Loan Originators can succeed.
Requirements
- Senior leadership experience in mortgage banking or mortgage lending.
- Strong understanding of mortgage operations and the end-to-end loan lifecycle.
- Experience with Encompass and mortgage technology optimization.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with P&L analysis, budgeting, expenses, and productivity metrics.
- Experience implementing new products, systems, or operational processes.
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

- Experience supporting Loan Originator recruitment and retention.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate workflows, improve processes, and identify opportunities to increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Assess Encompass system utilization and implement improvements to workflows, productivity, and user experience.
- Partner with the CEO to monitor P&L performance, expenses, staffing, productivity, and operational profitability.
- Coordinate the rollout of new mortgage products, programs, technology, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with the CEO and Sales leadership on Loan Originator recruitment, onboarding, and retention, helping ensure operational support is in place.
- Work with Operations, Sales, Finance, Compliance, HR, and other teams to align priorities and improve execution.
- Use operational and financial data to identify trends, solve problems, and support informed business decisions.
