The Chief of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) will lead integrated clinical and investigative programs to advance the department’s strategic priorities. This role involves directing the Division of URPS, ensuring excellence in patient care, medical education for students, residents, and fellows, and developing high-impact research. The appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. The Chief will serve as the academic and clinical leader, responsible for strategic direction, operational oversight, and faculty development. This includes leading recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, retention, and performance evaluation of physician faculty and advanced practice providers. The Chief will also develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the Department’s mission, vision, and values, and collaborate with the Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology to ensure the financial stability of the division through appropriate resource allocation and fiscal stewardship. In terms of education and mentorship, the Chief will provide leadership, guidance, and support to faculty in key educational roles, cultivating an outstanding learning environment for medical students, residents, and fellows. They will promote, support, and assess faculty development in academic advancement, teaching excellence, leadership, and ongoing professional growth, and encourage the integration of innovative educational strategies and curricular advancements.
