About The Position

The Chief of Staff is the CEO’s most trusted operator and thought partner. This role is designed to absorb strategic and operational weight, including board preparation, fundraising, planning rhythms, cross-functional execution, and high-stakes projects. The Chief of Staff also serves as organizational connective tissue, acting as an information funnel, filter, and facilitator between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders. This is a high-intensity role for someone who wants to be instrumental in building the company, not just seeking a title. The company is a voice AI startup that has raised $61M in Series A funding and works with Fortune 500 customers to deploy AI agents for customer experience.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of demonstrated experience in BizOps, strategy, or operator roles at high-velocity companies (frontier AI labs, top-tier startups, or consulting/banking-to-operator path).
  • Experience owning initiatives and creating impact.
  • AI-native with experience shipping or operating close to LLM products.
  • Understanding of eval and inference economics.
  • Exceptional writer and thinker.
  • Superb judgment with confidential information, competing priorities, and executive-level relationships.
  • Proven track record leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from ambiguous start to clean finish.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Low ego, high ownership mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the daily operations of the executive office, including processes, rhythms, and infrastructure for CEO leverage.
  • Act as an extension of the CEO with internal and external stakeholders, assessing inquiries and routing or handling them.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the CEO’s direct reports, partnering with the EA to align the CEO’s calendar with company priorities.
  • Stand in for the CEO in selected meetings, challenging ideas, offering perspective, and driving follow-through.
  • Manage the CEO’s external brand and reputation with investors, customers, and the ecosystem.
  • Build and run the cadence for leadership meetings, board meetings, and leadership offsites, including company-wide communications.
  • Drive quarterly planning cycles, OKRs, leadership reviews, and major business updates.
  • Own the company operating dashboard, defining metrics, tracking them, and flagging issues.
  • Design meetings for decisiveness with sharp agendas, clear decisions, and follow-through.
  • Lead strategic initiatives end-to-end that span Engineering, Go-to-Market, and Operations, especially those that don't fit neatly within the org chart.
  • Proactively track high-priority initiatives, surface blockers and dependencies, and follow up on goals.
  • Promote team integration, cross-functional communication, and collaboration.
  • Own board cadence, including deck production, narrative, data room, and preparation.
  • Support fundraising efforts, including modeling, materials, and diligence coordination.
  • Build and maintain a process to track and nurture key relationships with investors, customers, and strategic partners.
  • Synthesize business performance, risks, and decisions into communications for external audiences.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the CEO, challenging assumptions and offering recommendations.
  • Maintain focus on long-term planning and strategic priorities.
