About The Position

The Chief of Staff to the Group COO serves as the strategic execution partner to the Group COO and the primary integration point across AXIS's Operations, Data & Analytics, Technology, AI, Transformation, Architecture, and Information Security portfolios. The role turns strategy into action through portfolio governance, operating cadence, value realization, cross-functional execution, and executive decision support, enabling the Group COO to focus on high-value strategic, operating, talent, and investment decisions while maintaining accountability for execution and outcomes. The role manages the Group COO's enterprise agenda and strategic priorities; oversees portfolio investments, benefits, execution health, and resource allocation; and coordinates complex initiatives and transformation efforts. It integrates technology, data, AI, architecture, and operations, supports responsible AI adoption, and partners with Operations and Underwriting leaders to improve capacity, efficiency, resilience, service quality, and scalability. The Chief of Staff operates the COO organization's management cadence, maintains visibility of operational and technology-related risks, and coordinates audit, regulatory, control, and remediation commitments. The role also prepares the Group COO for executive and Board discussions and develops concise, decision-oriented materials and analyses. Success is measured by effective execution of the COO agenda, measurable value from strategic investments, coordinated cross-functional delivery, improved underwriting and operational performance, proactive risk management, and effective executive decision-making.
