About The Position

The Lewis & Clark Information Exchange (LACIE) is seeking a highly motivated and relationship-driven Chief of Staff to partner directly with the Chief Executive Officer. The Chief of Staff serves as a trusted partner to the CEO, helping coordinate priorities and strengthen relationships, both internal and external. This position is ideal for someone who is curious, organized, energized by people, and interested in growing into broader strategic leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in business development, external relations, project management, operations, consulting, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience working with executives, senior leaders, clients, partners, or community stakeholders preferred.
  • Ability to regularly attend meetings and events throughout the Kansas City region.
  • Willingness and availability to occasionally travel regionally and nationally (estimated 15%).
  • Requires regular in-office presence in Overland Park, Kansas, with some flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.
  • Exercises discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic partner and extension of the CEO, helping manage priorities, relationships, communication, and follow-through.
  • Help prepare the CEO for key conversations, meetings, and decisions by developing briefing materials, identifying considerations, and organizing relevant information.
  • Attend meetings with the CEO as needed, capturing key themes, commitments, opportunities, and follow-up actions.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives that advance organizational goals.
  • Maintain awareness of organizational priorities and identify ways to improve communication, coordination, and execution.
  • Support the CEO in strengthening LACIE’s presence and visibility.
  • Build relationships across the Kansas City region by representing LACIE at community events, partner meetings, and other opportunities to stay connected to local conversations and priorities.
  • Help identify opportunities for connection, partnership, and increased organizational engagement.
  • Coordinate follow-up, communication, and next steps from external meetings and events to support strong relationship management.
  • Manage the CEO’s calendar, event planning, travel logistics, and other coordination needs.
  • Draft and edit communications, presentations, reports, and other executive-level materials.
  • Help strengthen internal communication, team connection, and employee engagement.
