About The Position
Rypples is a permanent capital holding company that invests its own balance sheet in ocean-positive companies and works alongside their founders to help them scale. The company has backed 13 businesses across Ocean Health, Ecosystems, Data, Maritime and Blue Foods, and plans to deploy $1 billion into 100 companies over the next decade. The Chief of Staff & Head of Platform works directly with the CEO to build and run Rypples’ Growth Engine, the operators, programs and know-how Rypples brings to its portfolio companies to help them scale. The role also leads efforts to make Rypples AI-native, building systems that improve as they are used across the company and portfolio. The position owns the design and operation of AI agents and workflows for activities such as sourcing, diligence, investor relations and finance; the recruitment, onboarding and enablement of operating partners; the Growth Readiness and Ocean Scalers founder programs; and Rypples OS, the company’s evolving playbook for scaling ocean innovation.
Requirements
- Experience as Chief of Staff to a founder-CEO at a fast-growing startup, or experience as a founder.
- Proficiency with AI and experience building agents and workflows that changed how a team works.
- Ability to build quickly, producing a working version in days rather than a plan in weeks.
- Credibility with CEOs and senior operators.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Deep care for the ocean and the planet.
Responsibilities
- Design and run AI agents and workflows for sourcing, diligence, investor relations and finance to help a small team operate at greater scale.
- Find and onboard board-level operating partners who support individual portfolio companies, as well as cross-portfolio experts in People, Go-To-Market and Finance.
- Provide operating partners with the context and tools they need to contribute effectively.
- Run the Growth Readiness and Ocean Scalers founder programs, including their design, cadence, participants and follow-through.
- Build and maintain Rypples OS, incorporating lessons from board meetings, partner engagements and founder sessions so the playbook improves over time.
- Work directly with the CEO to build and operate Rypples’ Growth Engine and advance the company’s AI-native approach.
