Chief of Staff, AI / Head of Platform
About The Position
Rypples is an operating holding company investing its own balance sheet to help growth-stage ocean-positive companies scale. It aims to build an AI-native company where people focus on judgment and relationships while AI agents handle operational work. The Chief of Staff, AI / Head of Platform will design, deploy, and manage agents across functions including sourcing, diligence, investor relations, and finance, making Rypples a proof of concept that portfolio companies can learn from. The role will recruit and onboard operating partners, equip them with context, tools, and agents, and help run the Growth Readiness and Ocean Scalers programs. It will develop RypplesOS, turning board meetings, engagements, expertise, and playbooks into a learning operating system. The role will also support portfolio-company value creation and enable shareholder reports and portfolio dashboards to be generated from the system.
Requirements
- Experience working side by side with a founder-CEO at a fast-growing startup, or having built something independently.
- Ability to move and build quickly, shipping a working version in days rather than spending weeks on a plan.
- Deep AI proficiency, including building agents and workflows that changed how a team works and using AI in day-to-day work.
- Credibility with CEOs, founder-operators, and senior talent, with executive-level communication skills.
- Experience running programs valued by founders, with strong cadence and follow-through.
- Motivation by ocean- and planet-positive impact.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage AI agents and workflows across sourcing, diligence, investor relations, finance, and other company functions.
- Find and onboard operating partners, and provide them with the context, tools, and agents needed to support portfolio companies.
- Run the design and cadence of the Growth Readiness and Ocean Scalers programs, ensuring the right people participate and agentic systems handle preparation, follow-through, and information capture.
- Develop RypplesOS so board meetings, engagements, sessions, expertise, and playbooks contribute to a learning operating system.
- Identify where portfolio companies are stuck, intervene to help them create value, and support them in becoming AI-native.
- Build systems that generate shareholder reports and portfolio dashboards without relying on manual spreadsheet chasing.
