About The Position

The Walter B. Jones Center is hiring a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide administrative and clinical leadership for Nursing Services across its two inpatient facilities: Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital – inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults, and Woodside Treatment Center – detoxification, stabilization, and co-occurring substance use and mental health treatment, including specialized Perinatal Services. This work supports individuals in crisis who need psychiatric care, stabilization, and recovery support in a safe, structured treatment environment. The CNO has the complete responsibility for independently planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the quality of system-wide nursing care delivered through the organization. The Walter B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in Greenville, NC: (1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital. The primary purpose and mission of the Walter B. Jones Center is "To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery". The Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and SAMHSA/CSAT. Two specialty programs are offered to all 100 NC Counties: (1) Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults and (2) Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
  • Five years of nursing experience, including three years of experience in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.
  • Ability to complete the physical requirements for CPR and CPI certifications.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective written and oral communication and work relationships with Physicians, healthcare personnel, patients, families, agencies and others.
  • Ability to prepare, write, and present reports to management and administration.
  • Ability to develop databases for collecting or reporting data on specific programs; thus enabling management to make informed decisions.
