About The Position

With over 8,500 employees and 120 offices nationwide, CLA is seeking a Chief Financial Officer with Professional Service experience for our growing CAAS (Client Accounting & Advisory Services) team. This role will be based in our Nashville, TN or King of Prussia, PA office. Our CAAS service assists clients in transforming their businesses through a collaborative approach, helping them mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify workforce solutions. This is a full-time, permanent position where you will drive business development, build relationships, and contribute to building the talent infrastructure to support practice growth.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Deep professional services industry specialization.
  • General knowledge of accounting software.
  • Experience in using personal and professional network for business development.
  • Proven record of building and managing teams through growth.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required (in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field is highly preferred).
  • Combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Intacct, and Bill.com preferred.
  • CPA not required but highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team.
  • Identify and implement best practices related to services to add value to the client.
  • Work with clients to set financial policy and be an active participant in, and driver of, the overall strategy.
  • Drive capital planning, risk management, ratio and KPI analysis, and board of director interactions.
  • Lead financial administration, planning, and budgeting.
  • Oversee longer-term budget planning and cost management.
  • Monitor budget progress and present operational metrics.
  • Ensure financial staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with appropriate principles and monitors the use of funds.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing financial accounting.
  • Coordinate audit activities.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage multiple client engagements.
  • Build strong client relationships and become a key member of client management teams.
  • Develop key external business networks and become a service and industry thought leader.
