About The Position

CLA is looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer with Nonprofit industry experience for our growing CAAS group in Minneapolis, MN. As a Chief Financial Officer, you will perform CFO functions as part of the client’s accounting services team. You will be accountable for identifying and implementing best practices related to the services provided to add value to the client. You will work with clients to set financial policy and be an active participant in, and driver of, the overall strategy. You will drive capital planning, risk management, ratio and KPI analysis, and board of director interactions. You will lead financial administration, planning, and budgeting. You will oversee longer-term budget planning and cost management. You will monitor progress of budgets and present operational metrics. You will ensure financial staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with appropriate principles and monitors the use of funds. You will manage cash flow and forecasting, directing financial accounting. You will coordinate audit activities. You will have the ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple client engagements. You will build strong client relationships and become a key member of the client management team. You will have the ability to develop a key external business network and become a service and industry thought leader.

Requirements

  • 8 years relative work experience as an Assistant Controller, Controller, or equivalent.
  • Nonprofit industry experience is highly preferred!
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks (Online version) highly preferred.
  • Comfortable in fast paced environment and skilled in multitasking.

  • Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
