About The Position

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Chief Field Operating Officer contributes to the overall strategic direction of the operating unit and is directly responsible for all aspects of Acadia’s field and profit center underwriting and marketing operations. This role drives effective sales, distribution, marketing, and agency engagement strategies to optimize opportunities across Acadia’s territory and business segments. The position also optimizes field underwriting operations to achieve expense ratio, loss ratio, and production goals, and employs effective talent management practices to recruit, retain, and develop underwriting and marketing professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • Twenty years of commercial lines insurance experience, including significant underwriting and marketing experience with P&L responsibility.
  • Established agency relationships in New England and Upstate New York.
  • A successful track record of building teams and working in a highly collaborative culture.
  • Strong aptitude for analyzing and translating data.
  • Superior strategic and execution skills, along with strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
  • Successful experience in strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, and commercial lines market research and planning.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate WRBC Leadership Core Competencies and Innovation Behaviors.
  • Approximately 25% travel required within New England and New York.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Position will be based out of our Westbrook, ME office.

  • Advanced degree (MBA or related graduate degree) and/or professional insurance designations such as CPCU, ARM, or CLU preferred.
