Hotel Chief Engineer | Hilton Garden Inn, Fort Myers, FL
About The Position
The Chief Engineer oversees the maintenance, repair, and operation of the Hilton Garden Inn, Fort Myers property, equipment, and building systems. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for preventive maintenance programs, vendor management, regulatory compliance, budget support, and supervision of the maintenance team. The role also oversees pool operations and supports the hotel’s goal of providing guests with an exceptional experience through a well-maintained and safe property. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with emergency calls on weekends. Pay is salary.
Requirements
- Experience in hotel, facilities, or building maintenance leadership.
- Strong HVAC, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
- Two to three years of experience at a hotel.
Nice To Haves
- Pool certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily maintenance operations and work orders.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Lead and develop maintenance staff.
- Manage preventive maintenance programs and property inspections.
- Coordinate contractors and ensure code compliance.
- Assist with departmental budgeting and capital projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
- Oversee pool operations.
