About The Position
The Hilton Garden Inn in Fort Myers is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of the hotel property, equipment, and building systems. This leadership role is responsible for preventive maintenance programs, vendor management, regulatory compliance, budget support, and supervising the maintenance team. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, with emergency calls on weekends. The role also oversees pool operations and supports the hotel’s goal of providing an exceptional guest experience through a well-maintained and safe property.
Requirements
- Experience in hotel, facilities, or building maintenance leadership.
- Strong HVAC, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
- 2–3 years of experience at a hotel.
Nice To Haves
- Pool certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily maintenance operations and work orders.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Lead and develop maintenance staff.
- Manage preventive maintenance programs and property inspections.
- Coordinate contractors and ensure code compliance.
- Assist with departmental budgeting and capital projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
- Oversee pool operations.
