About The Position

R.W. Zant is hiring a Chicken Processor for its production team in Los Angeles, California. The role involves hands-on processing and packaging of poultry products while following food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and the pay rate is $19 per hour. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The work is performed in a fast-paced production environment and includes exposure to cold temperatures, feathers, dust, cleaning chemicals, and food allergens. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.

Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Comfort working in cold environments of 25–50°F.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety and food-handling protocols.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, lift, reach, and push or pull.
Team-oriented approach and solid communication skills.
Willingness to learn and follow USDA inspection requirements.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.

Responsibilities

Sort, cut, debone, trim, and package chicken products.
Follow safety and quality procedures and food-handling regulations.
Keep the work area clean, sanitized, and safe.
Operate equipment and tools properly and safely.
Inspect products for quality and remove items that do not meet standards.
Monitor machinery and promptly report issues.
Label and package products according to company specifications.
Follow USDA and HACCP guidelines and applicable state and federal poultry regulations.
Participate in training to stay current with industry best practices.
Support the team in meeting daily production goals.
