About The Position

The Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas: Intro to Ethnic Studies, Communication Skills, and Introduction to Chicana and Chicano Studies. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a field relevant to the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies curriculum for introductory courses (100- or 200- level).
  • Ph.D. or extensive professional experience for teaching upper-division courses (300- or 400- level).
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Availability on very short notice.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in Intro to Ethnic Studies, Communication Skills, and Introduction to Chicana and Chicano Studies.
  • Interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
  • Contribute to the general education experiences of students in humanities and the social sciences.
  • Serve majors at the undergraduate level.
