About The Position

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in Chinese Studies to teach undergraduate courses in Chinese language, culture, business, art, literature, linguistics and/or film. Areas of Specialization We are seeking highly motivated, well-organized individuals to teach in at least two of the following subject areas: Chinese Language, Introductory to Advanced Chinese Culture, Chinese Civilization, and Contemporary China Chinese for Business Chinese Literature, Intermediate to Advanced Chinese Linguistics Chinese Film This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

Requirements

  • Hold at least a master’s degree in Chinese, Chinese Studies, or a related field and possess native-like fluency in Chinese to teach lower-division (100- and 200-level) courses.
  • Hold a Ph.D. (or be a Ph.D. candidate) in Chinese Studies or a related field and possess native-like fluency in Chinese in order to teach upper-division (300-level) courses.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States of America.
  • Reside in the State of California at the time of hiring.

Responsibilities
