About The Position

The Department of Liberal Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas: The history of Science, Food studies, The history of social thought, The history of the arts and humanities, Introduction to the humanities or social sciences, Cross cultural humanities and social thought. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

• Hold at least a Master’s degree in a related field.
• Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Be available on very short notice.
• Submit a complete online application.
• Provide a Cover Letter which includes a statement of which courses qualified to teach.
• Provide a Curriculum Vitae.
• Provide a Copy of your unofficial transcripts conferring your highest terminal degree.
• Provide a list of three (3) references with contact information.
• Provide an Inclusive Excellence Statement - This statement provides the candidate’s unique perspective on their past and present contributions to and future aspirations for promoting and engaging with a diverse student population. This statement aims to showcase the candidate’s professional experience, intellectual commitments, and/or willingness to teach and create an academic environment supportive of all students.
• Provide a sample of course syllabi.
• Provide Teaching Evaluations (if available).
• Provide three letters of recommendation (once selected as a finalist).
• Provide Official transcripts from the institution’s Registrar’s office (before official hire).
• Disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
• Sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (applicants who reach the final stages of the application process).

Responsibilities

• Teach in the following subject areas: The history of Science, Food studies, The history of social thought, The history of the arts and humanities, Introduction to the humanities or social sciences, Cross cultural humanities and social thought.
• Perform regular performance evaluations.
• Participate in departmental personnel committee reviews of syllabi, assignments, and reading material in some instances.
