Chess Instructor – K–12 Enrichment Programs
About The Position
Concorde Education partners with schools and community organizations nationwide to provide engaging, high-quality educational enrichment programs for K–12 students. We are seeking individuals with knowledge and experience in Chess who are interested in leading interactive, hands-on enrichment programs for students of varying ages and skill levels. This posting is intended to identify qualified professionals for current and future independent contractor opportunities. Specific assignments, schedules, locations, and compensation will vary based on school and program needs.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of chess fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Ability to communicate concepts clearly and engage students.
- Enthusiasm for working with K–12 students.
- Reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
- Willingness to follow school-specific policies and program expectations.
- Ability to complete any required background checks or onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities
- Introducing students to the fundamentals of chess, including rules, pieces, movement, and gameplay.
- Teaching chess strategies, tactics, openings, and problem-solving techniques.
- Leading interactive lessons, practice games, and friendly competitions.
- Helping students develop critical thinking, concentration, patience, and decision-making skills.
- Adapting instruction to accommodate different ages, experience levels, and learning styles.
- Creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
- Encouraging sportsmanship, creativity, and student participation.
