About The Position
We are seeking a Chess Instructor to lead after-school chess classes for students in grades K-5. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 3:10 PM to 4:10 PM at a site located in Tucson, AZ 85711. The program runs from August 19th to January 6th. This is a part-time, hourly position.
Requirements
- Proficiency in chess instruction.
- Experience working with children in a K-5 age range.
- Reliable transportation to the worksite.
- Ability to commit to the full program duration (Aug 19 - Jan 06).
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as an after-school instructor.
- Knowledge of various chess teaching methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in grades K-5 in the game of chess.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive learning environment.
- Prepare and deliver engaging chess lessons.
- Communicate with program coordinators regarding class progress and any issues.
