About The Position

The College Preparatory School seeks a 0.25 time Chemistry teacher beginning in August 2026. This teacher will teach one section of Physical Chemistry during the Fall semester and one section of Organic Chemistry during the Spring semester, with each class having approximately 14-16 students. These senior electives are for enthusiastic and committed students who are eager to deepen their knowledge of chemistry. The science program emphasizes rigor, critical thinking, and hands-on learning, with a required science sequence of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and numerous science electives for 12th graders. Science teachers share a collaborative office space.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Physics.
Prepared to teach Physical and Organic Chemistry.
Minimum of three years experience teaching Science to students at the secondary or college level.
Strong interest in working in a multicultural community.
Eager to embrace spirited intellectual challenges in a rewarding academic environment.
Patience, flexibility and a good sense of humor.
Infectious and inspiring enthusiasm for Chemistry.
