About The Position

The Chemistry & Physical Science Teacher will guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation. This role involves instructing assigned classes, preparing lessons, creating an effective classroom environment, and working to achieve curriculum goals. The teacher will also communicate with students and parents, plan curriculum in cooperation with administration, and ensure the safety of students and school property. Professional development and maintaining appropriate personal and professional conduct are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

As set by state certification authorities
Chemistry certification preferred

Responsibilities

Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated times.
Prepares for assigned classes, reflecting objectives to be achieved.
Creates an effective classroom environment conducive to learning.
Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals.
Establishes and communicates clear learning objectives to students.
Identifies students' needs and refers them to appropriate school personnel.
Maintains open communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
Plans curriculum in cooperation with administration to meet individual student needs.
Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
Assists administration in developing and implementing policies.
Attends and participates in faculty and professional activities.
Completes reports and school-related paperwork.
Accepts responsibility and arrives punctually for assigned activities and duties.
Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with co-workers.
Upgrades professional growth through training, workshops, seminars, conferences, or college classes.
Maintains appropriate emotional control, physical health, and personal appearance.
Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal and/or Superintendent.
