About The Position

Riverside High School is seeking a Chemistry/Physics/Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, starting August 25, 2026. This position involves teaching 6 out of 8 periods within a block schedule, instructing IB Physics, Physics, Chemistry, and Forensic Science courses for grades 9-12. The ideal candidate will have experience with IB and/or Dual Credit, collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, and communicate well with students, staff, and parents. The role requires planning for the instructional needs of all students, attending to diverse needs while maintaining high expectations, and developing curriculum, lessons, and assessments aligned with Common Core State Standards. A student-centered classroom approach, with an emphasis on respect, inclusion, and diversity, is essential. The teacher will also be expected to participate in the broader RHS community through committees and activities.

Requirements

Physics/Chemistry endorsement required
Oregon teaching license in assigned area(s) and proper endorsements
Knowledge of best practices in teaching

Nice To Haves

Experience with IB and/or Dual Credit preferred
Masters Degree preferred
