About The Position

The Chemical Specialist provides on-site technical service support to customers regarding chemical performance in the vehicle wash industry. The role conducts chemical audits and volumetric analyses, optimizes chemical usage at customer sites, and supports delivery, routing, training, start-ups, and chemical-related customer emergencies across all regions. The specialist collaborates with company teams and peers, supports day-to-day customer service requirements, participates in trade shows, industry associations, and educational initiatives, and receives mentorship from the Sales Team, service team, and Lab. This is an hourly, full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. Overnight travel may be required as business needs dictate. The role involves daily automobile travel between locations and work in wet, slippery, loud, and potentially chaotic conditions, in a fast-paced environment. The anticipated hiring range is $20 to $22 per hour, subject to factors including experience, qualifications, education, market benchmarks, and internal equity.

Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent experience.
1–3 years of related work experience in chemistry, a laboratory, chemicals, or the car wash industry.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with teammates at all levels.
General mechanical understanding and interests.
Valid driver’s license.
General computing skills, including the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel overnight as business needs dictate.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and meet the mental and physical requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
Ability to travel daily by automobile between locations.
Consistent use and enforcement of safety practices and proper safety equipment.

Responsibilities

Service existing chemical wash accounts, troubleshoot cleaning issues, perform on-site titrations and usage analyses, and document the work.
Manage time effectively, follow routes efficiently, and complete assigned tasks.
Conduct cleaning-efficiency and guest-experience evaluations and provide written follow-up documentation.
Support chemical customer satisfaction through regular customer visits along assigned routes.
Organize daily work schedules efficiently and adjust priorities based on customer needs and urgency.
Assist Operations with delivery and route management.
Execute emergency deliveries and chemical-related service.
Monitor industry competition, including emerging technology, new chemistries, marketing trends, and competitive costing.
Provide technical chemical training to customers and inside sales professionals.
Develop professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, personal networks, and professional societies.
Attend educational workshops provided by Sales and Technical Service Management through industry partners and suppliers.
Participate in company functions and events.
Participate in trade shows, division-related associations, and educational initiatives.
