About The Position

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU) is seeking to fill a full-time, nine-month renewable term position of Assistant Teaching Professor. Exceptional candidates with commensurate experience and a proven track record may be considered for the advanced ranks of Associate or Full Teaching Professor. The appointment is expected to begin on January 1, 2027, or August 16, 2027, with an initial term of three years. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in core undergraduate chemical engineering courses, including lectures and laboratories. This role also involves contributing to the university's teaching mission through committee service, mentoring undergraduate students, and assisting with curriculum and assessment coordination. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to the department's mission of providing outstanding education and training in chemical engineering. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
  • Doctoral degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Associate or Full Teaching Professor candidates must also meet the university standards for appointment to the rank, including experience and accomplishments in chemical engineering education.
