Requirements

  • Exceptional cooking skills; 4+ years of culinary experience required.
  • Application and promotion of current food trends.
  • Proficiency and growing knowledge of sustainable practices.
  • Participative management style and excellent leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated experience cultivating talent and promoting an inclusive work environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety (HACCP), sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment while fostering strong client and customer relationships.
  • ServSafe® Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation, cooking, and portioning of large quantities of meals and other items.
  • Supervise and/or coordinate activities of cooks and other staff engaged in preparation, cooking, garnishing, or presentation of food.
  • Design recipes and recommend changes in recipes and cooking methods to improve products and ensure quality.
  • Order or requisition food or other supplies needed to ensure efficient operation.
  • Monitor and record kitchen inventory; order food supplies, and receive and check products for freshness and quality.
  • Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays.
  • Ensure correct use of equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and schedule equipment maintenance.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, or work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques or equipment to staff.
  • Check the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
  • Record operational or production data.
  • Prepare and cook foods of all types, either regularly or for special guests or functions.
  • Keep food production areas, kitchen equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitized; participate in and assist with coordinating the cleaning of cooking areas and equipment.
  • Attend production meetings daily; offer input regarding leftover utilization, efficiency, product quality, etc.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and sanitation best practices.
  • Regular & Predictable Attendance.
