About The Position

ACTIVSTARS is hiring a part-time Cheer Coach to work with young athletes in the Houston metro area. The position involves coaching three age-group teams in cheer basics, cheer dance, and pom routines, with one consistent evening practice per week. Locations include Spring Branch, Cypress-Fairbanks, North Central Houston, and Northwest Houston; other Greater Houston areas may be added. Training begins upon hire and includes paid instruction on teaching guidelines and practice structure, as well as shadowing an experienced coach. Coaches also participate in three to four paid weekend events per semester, with dates provided in advance. The role may suit college students, parents, and former cheerleaders interested in staying involved in the sport and making a positive impact.

Requirements

• Previous cheerleading and/or coaching experience.
• Enjoy working with children ages 4–15.
• Be positive, energetic, and able to serve as a strong role model.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and lead weekly practices.
• Teach cheer skills safely and effectively.
• Choreograph routines and performance cheers.
• Introduce basic stunting fundamentals.
• Manage attendance and simple records.
• Coach three age-group teams in cheer basics, cheer dance, and pom routines.
• Participate in three to four paid weekend events per semester.
