About The Position

ACTIVSTARS is hiring a part-time Youth Cheer Coach for its Anthem and North Phoenix areas, with possible expansion locations across the Phoenix metro area. The coach will lead three age-group teams of children ages 4–15 in cheerleading and cheer dance, including some use of poms. The position is one evening per week on a consistent weekday throughout the semester. Coaches also participate in three or four paid weekend events each semester, with dates set in advance.

The coach prepares practices and lesson plans, teaches students safely and effectively, oversees practice check-ins, choreographs routines and performance-oriented cheers appropriate to each team level, teaches team-stunting fundamentals and execution, and maintains basic records. Paid training covers the organization’s teaching guidelines and record-keeping, and includes assisting and shadowing a veteran coach. Training begins upon hire in preparation for the Fall 2026 session.

Requirements

• Previous cheerleading experience.
• At least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation on a weekly basis.
• Enthusiastic, positive, and passionate about cheerleading.
• Able to lead by example and serve as a role model to youth.
• Enjoy working with children ages 4–15.

Nice To Haves

• Experience teaching children.
• Experience choreographing cheer or dance routines and performance-oriented cheers.
