About The Position

The Charge RN II – Maternal/Newborn position at Texas Health Southwest is a full-time role requiring nights and weekend coverage. This role is part of a newly renovated Mother/Baby, couplet care unit with 26-beds, which averages between 285-300 deliveries per month. The facility is designated as Mother friendly, a Texas 10-Step facility, and a Magnet facility. The department offers self-scheduling to promote work/life balance and opportunities for educational and career growth within a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting Required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days Required
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients.
Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism.
Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems.

Nice To Haves

BSN – Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred
2-years’ experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting preferred
2-years current Mother/Baby RN experience strongly preferred
