Charge RN Maternal/Newborn Full-time Nights
About The Position
The Charge Nurse will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team, support and actively participate in shared governance/councils, and is committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development. The role evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
- RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- One-year (1) Year Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting Required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days Required
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
- Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
- Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
- Have basic computer skills using medical management application systems
Nice To Haves
- BSN – Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred
- 2-years’ experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting preferred
- 2-years current Mother/Baby RN experience strongly preferred
