About The Position

The Charge Nurse (LVN or RN) provides and coordinates resident care while supporting resident well-being. The role guides Nurse Aides, administers medications and treatments, carries out care plans and physician orders, and maintains accurate resident documentation. The Charge Nurse also participates in shift reports, educates support staff about resident care needs and nursing procedures, promotes workplace safety, and responds to staffing shortages by arranging replacement staff. The role calls for reliability, effective multitasking, a professional and cooperative demeanor, and the ability to organize workflows and respond efficiently to emergencies.

Requirements

Be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in good standing.
Demonstrate excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
Possess strong communication skills and the ability to organize workflows effectively.
Respond efficiently to emergencies and pay attention to detail.
Be trustworthy, consistent in attendance, able to multitask, and professional and cooperative when working with others.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance to Nurse Aides to ensure appropriate resident care.
Administer resident medications safely and as prescribed.
Implement resident care plans in compliance with company policies, federal guidelines, and physician orders.
Provide treatments as required to support resident health and comfort.
Accurately and promptly transcribe physician orders.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation in resident charts and complete required nursing assessments.
Participate in shift reports to support communication and continuity of care.
Implement nursing policies and procedures and educate staff about residents’ care needs.
Promote a safe working environment by following infection control and body mechanics procedures.
Address staffing shortages by arranging replacement staff as necessary.
