Chaplains are the frontline staff fulfilling the mission and Christian ministry of MCHAP, by using their gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families. This is a part-time position requiring bilingual Spanish skills, with assigned hours generally consistent but no guaranteed minimal hours. Positional needs will vary depending on Chaplain availability and Client requirements. The role involves making regular visits to company worksites, interacting with employees, and building relationships of trust and friendship motivated by Christian faith. Chaplains may also visit employees or their immediate family members in various care settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, or residences. They may provide confidential pastoral discussions for a range of personal issues, offer referral services, and assist in planning or conducting funerals. The role also includes working with companies to serve notifications of death and serious injuries, providing post-termination care, facilitating spiritual enrichment activities, and representing companies to clients in sensitive situations. Participation in new employee orientation to explain the Employee Care Service and the role of the Chaplain Team is also expected. With Executive Director of Operations permission, Chaplains may respond to other duties and services requested by executive leadership of companies, within the scope of the Letter of Agreement.
