About The Position

The Part Time Chaplain serves as frontline staff supporting MCHAP’s mission and Christian ministry by using personal gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families. The Chaplain conveys faith, mission, and purpose, and interacts with companies, employees, and the community in a manner that reflects personal and spiritual discipline. The role is part time in Highland, California, with approximately 5–10 hours of work per week. Assigned hours are generally consistent, but there are no guaranteed minimum hours; needs vary according to Chaplain availability and client requirements. There may be potential to move to full time. The position is bilingual in any language and is remote in the field, with work environments dependent on client worksites. The Chaplain visits company worksites, generally weekly, to build relationships of trust and friendship, and visits employees or immediate family members wherever care and support can be provided. Ministry may include confidential pastoral discussions, referrals and coordination for specialized assistance, funeral support, jail visits, assistance during serious injuries or deaths, post-termination care, spiritual enrichment activities, and providing relevant literature and other resources. The Chaplain may represent companies in situations where ministry services are appropriate and participates in new employee orientation to explain the Employee Care Service and Chaplain Team. With permission from the Executive Director of Operations, the Chaplain may perform other requested duties within the scope of the agreement between MCHAP Chaplains and the company.
