About The Position

Chaplains are frontline staff who fulfill MCHAP’s mission and Christian ministry by using their gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families. This part-time role is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and requires bilingual Spanish proficiency. Assigned hours are generally consistent from week to week, but there are no guaranteed minimum hours; position needs vary according to chaplain availability and client requirements. The Chaplain serves as a messenger of faith, mission, and purpose, and interacts with companies, employees, and the community in a manner that reflects personal and spiritual discipline. The role involves regular visits to company worksites, usually weekly, as well as visits to employees and immediate family members wherever care and assistance can be provided. Chaplains may offer confidential pastoral discussions, referrals, bereavement support, and other forms of care in response to personal, family, financial, health, or workplace challenges. This is a remote, field-based position. Work environments depend on client worksites and may include manufacturing facilities, hospitals, office buildings, and funeral homes, with varying temperatures, noise, and light exposure. The chaplain must pass a pre-employment background check and hold an active state driver’s license with state-minimum auto insurance in the state or states where clients are served.
