Under direction, set up and take down meeting rooms, ballrooms, and exhibit halls. The Ontario Convention Center employees are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11, and a condition of employment is a union membership. Requirements
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Ability to operate a radio
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing using the English language
- Receive direction both verbally and in writing and follow those directions precisely
- Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times during the workday
- Must be able to pass background.
- Employee should use precautions & follow safety guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a similar line of work
- Prefer forklift certificate
Responsibilities
- Participates in Event set-ups and strikes, including but not limited to, chairs, tables, riser/stages, reader boards, stanchions, lecterns, piano, office furniture and equipment, etc.
- Cleans equipment when necessary.
- Makes recommendations for the improvement of all phases of the facility operation.
- Works safely at all times, notifying the Lead or Supervisor immediately of any accidents/incidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned
