About The Position

St. Francis Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive, fast-paced companion animal and exotics practice located in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including preventative care, surgery, urgent care, dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital full body radiology, ultrasonography, and boarding. St. Francis Animal Hospital is located in Springdale, Arkansas. Springdale is the 4th largest city in Arkansas and has a very friendly and diverse population. The proximity to I-49 allows for easy commute to Fayetteville, Rogers and Bentonville. Washington County public schools are some of the top ranked in the state, making it an ideal area to raise a family! Popular activities in the area include hiking, fishing, kayaking and enjoying the arts at the Walton Arts Center and at the Crystal Bridges Museum. Springdale is also home to The Naturals, a Minor League Baseball team. Our hours of operation are: Monday – Friday: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm Saturday: 8:00 am - noon We are closed on Sundays

Requirements

  • A certified veterinary technician
  • 1+ year experience required
  • Proficiency in anesthestic and surgical monitoring
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Saturday availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
  • positioning for dental radiographs are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Animal restraint
  • triage of incoming patients
  • collection and analysis of lab samples
  • diagnostic imaging
  • management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
  • administration of medications
  • effective communication of treatment plans with clients
  • surgical preparation and assistance
  • anesthetic management
