The Certified Veterinary Technician is a vital member of the veterinary team, supporting veterinarians in delivering high-quality veterinary medicine, educating clients, and providing compassionate patient care. The role is performed onsite at a WellHaven hospital or approved offsite event location; remote work is not available. The hospital environment may involve limited space, pet-waste odors, and noise such as barking. Schedules may include shifts of 10 or more hours, Saturdays, evenings, and holidays. The position involves exposure to animals that may bite or scratch, biological hazards, anesthesia odors, radiation near X-ray equipment, and prescription medications, including controlled substances. Physical requirements include lifting 50 or more pounds; standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing; and sufficient dexterity and vision to use keyboards, operate equipment, and read information. The position requires a valid state-specific CVT, RVT, or LVT certification, registration, or license and at least one year of veterinary hospital experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree is a plus. WellHaven describes its culture as collaborative and team-centered, with a focus on mentorship, growth, practice support, and work-life balance. The role also includes client service, hospital operations support, accurate medical charting, and compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
