About The Position

Certified Surgical Technologist, Main OR & Outpatient OR. Scrub in where your skills truly matter. UVA Health University Medical Center is expanding its Perioperative and Operating Room operations and is seeking experienced Surgical Technologists to support growth across the Main OR, Surgical Care Riverside (SCR), and Outpatient Surgical Centers. At UVA Health, Surgical Technologists are essential members of the perioperative team—working side-by-side with surgeons, OR RNs, anesthesia providers, and support staff to deliver safe, high-quality surgical care in one of Virginia’s most advanced academic medical centers. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled or graduated from a surgical technologist training program accredited by CAHEEP/ABHES OR NCCT Approved program.
• BLS required.
• Certified to practice as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (The National Center for Competency Testing) required at time of start date.
• Current Registration with Virginia Board of Medicine required at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience may be required for Surg II or above

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical supplies and instrumentation based on surgeon preference cards
• Maintain a sterile field and demonstrate strong aseptic technique
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the perioperative team
• Support safe, efficient surgical workflows across a variety of procedures
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing OR team environment
