About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - OrthoSports position facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. This role involves preparing the surgical suite with sterile drapes, solutions, instruments, and supplies. The CST will hand required instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery, assist with patient preparation, positioning, and draping, and maintain an organized instrument setup while monitoring instrument counts throughout procedures. This is a full-time position with multiple shifts available, primarily Monday-Friday, with shifts starting at 6:00 am. Options include 5/8-hour or 4/10-hour shifts, with limited 3/12-hour shifts available for those with verified Ortho experience, subject to manager discretion. Call is required.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
  • Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instruments counts throughout procedures.
