About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist functions as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures. The role includes participating in ongoing educational and competency activities and precepting staff on surgical technician job duties, including surgical technicians, nurses, and students. The position is onsite at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital and is scheduled for 36 hours per week on a rotating shift. The hospital has 16 operating rooms and performs approximately 1,000 cases per month. Staff are expected to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. Standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Surgical Technician Certification required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
Basic computer skills.
Must present and submit certification of graduation from an ARC/STSA-accredited Surgical Technology Program.
Certification conferred by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

Nice To Haves

One year of Surgical Technician experience preferred.
