Certified Surgical Technologist
About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist assists in surgical procedures by handling instrumentation and anticipating the surgeon’s needs while maintaining aseptic techniques to AORN standards. The role maintains the skills, competencies, and certification required of a Surgical Technologist; demonstrates working knowledge of service lines and specialized equipment; and serves as the primary preceptor for the scrub role. The technologist complies with customer service requirements, participates in quality improvement programs, responds to emergency situations under the direction of a registered nurse, and maintains and gathers supplies needed to perform the job. Other job-related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Surgical Technologist Certification is required.
- BLS Certification is required.
