About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist facilitates operative and other invasive procedures by preparing and providing the required sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment alongside the surgical team. The role supports safe procedural care through maintaining aseptic technique, preparing and organizing sterile materials, adapting case preparations to procedural needs, assisting with room and instrument cleaning, and performing surgical skin preparation and clipping as indicated.

Requirements

• Associate degree, vocational certification, or military certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA), Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). TS-C is not accepted for Surgical Tech jobs in Cincinnati.
• If currently residing in Virginia, registration as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with the Virginia Board of Medicine.

Nice To Haves

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• One year of perioperative, operating room, or related military surgical technology experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures while maintaining aseptic technique.
• Prepare, maintain, and organize sterile supplies and instruments for procedures.
• Prepare cases completely and adapt to special instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure cleaning of the operating room and instruments.
• Prepare and perform surgical skin preparation and clipping as indicated by the procedure.
